Andrew Blitman is an artist and the author of 13 books, who grew up in Cooper City, Florida, and received a Masters in Marine Conservation Science and Policy from the University of Miami in May 2014. There, he blogged on Wordpress. The blog posts evolved into multiple books, including a memoir of his experiences on a 2012 Birthright trip to Israel: "Birthright 2012: A Voyage into the Heart and Soul of Israel". Beginning in June 2017, Blitman released a three-book collection of poems titled, "Wild Writers". He is both the author and the illustrator for all of them.
