The horseshoe crab is a relic from a bygone age. It looks prehistoric even though there are four species that occupy the major oceans. These two are Atlantic Horseshoe Crabs, which swarm the beaches of Delaware Bay during mating season. They are not true crabs; they more closely resemble spiders than other arthropods.
